Antigua-Barbuda PM welcomes Marriott Courtyard
Great news for Antigua and Barbuda! One of the best-recognized business hotel brands has recently announced the construction of the Marriott Courtyard Antigua at the VC Bird International Airport. The hotel will offer 125 guest rooms as well as amenities such as a casino, meeting and conference facilities, a high-end restaurant and other surrounding leisure facilities. This venture will definitely help the government's goal of increasing the room capacity of Antigua and Barbuda to 10,000 within the next few years.

Windward Islands Triumph in Super50 Tournament

Music and cheering filled the air as the Super50 tournament lit up the Coolidge Cricket Grounds at the end of last month. Barbados fell just short of the title scoring 232 for 9, which Windward Islands chased down with three balls to spare.

Rambler 88 Sets New Record!
The Sailing Week buzz is in the air on the heels of the RORC Caribbean 600's 10th year anniversary race which ended with a bang as Rambler 88 glided in ahead of the competition.The Rambler 88 team set a new monohull race record ending the race in 37 hours 41 minutes and 45 seconds, nearly 3 hours less than the old record which was set in 2011 by George David's Rambler 100.

First ever Pedalo Atlantic Crossing Ends in Antigua
|

Imagine sea battling 50 foot waves for 3000 miles across open water in a boat propelled only by your willpower and leg muscles. For four brave men, this was a reality for 40 days as they made the rigorous journey across the Atlantic Ocean in aid of a great cause - Mental Health Awareness. The team, Pedal the Pond, modified a rowing boat, similar to those you’d see in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, installing a unique pedal system for propulsion in replacement of rowing. Starting at Gran Canaria on January 7, Henry Quinlan, Max Mossman, Paddy Johnson and Hector Turner became the first four-man team to pedal across the Atlantic. They were greeted by a cheering crowd at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina as they made their arrival on Friday, February 16, 2018.
