In some parts of the Caribbean, eggs are more mystic than sweet. On Good Friday at exactly midday, traditionalists crack an egg in a bowl of water and collect the white.
|

Easter traditions in Antigua and Barbuda are a mix of those from the UK and those home grown in the Caribbean. For example, people may eat hot cross buns but with cheese on them. And they are much more likely to focus on seafood on Good Friday.
|
|
But what stands out (under normal conditions - Pre Covid) about Easter time in Antigua and Barbuda is the Easter Monday kite competition. Lets hope in 2022 we will see the return of swimming or barbecuing on the beaches, and seeing kids flying their homemade kites high in the windy sky, right over Devil’s Bridge. Easter is the windiest time of year in Antigua and Barbuda, so it’s perfect timing. Unfortunately this Easter holiday for safety reasons, sadly all beaches are closed due to covid restrictions....

The Chairman of the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, Carlo Falcone and the committee have decided to cancel the 2021 ACYR and hope that everything will go back to normal in 2022 and will be even bigger and better.
|
|
For classic yachts already in Antigua, they are hoping to hold an informal sailing only weekend at the end of April this year and more information on that will follow if it is viable. Looking forward to welcoming all you sailors back to Antigua next winter.
