Villa Nicobar is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious villas in Antigua. It is located in Galley Bay Heights, a private estate of about 23 substantial villas and the most exclusive residential area on the island.

It is located on a hillside which gives the villa incredible views of the Caribbean from the expansive deck directly accessible from each bedroom. To the East at night the twinkling lights of the island make for a magical vista.
On entering the private gateway the drive leads up to the villa surrounded on both sides by bougainvillea and tropical plants.

The villa has been designed to maximise the views and create a light and airy living space. Throughout the colours are neutral; champagnes and creams mixed with Caribbean colour to give an elegant and relaxing feel. The furnishings have all been imported from Europe by a leading interior designer.

The great room is double height with the natural wood ceiling exposed. A large L shape sofa seating 8 allows for comfortable relaxing or an area to watch TV or play Wii. There is an extensive DVD and Wii library for both children and adults. There is also satellite TV and wireless broadband. The house is equipped with a BOSE system that gives cinema sound for the TV and music to the deck and master bedroom.

Each area can be separately controlled and there is a library of 80 CD’s loaded on the system. To the right of the sofa is the 8 seat maple dining table. This was crafted in Wiltshire England by Sir William Bentley and rotates to become a snooker/pool table with deep blue baize.
The kitchen leads directly off the great room and is also open plan. The owners are very keen chefs and the kitchen is extensively equipped. There are 2 large Kitchen Aid ovens plus a double freezer/ fridge with ice maker. There is also a large microwave and wine fridge and a separate drinks fridge. Almost every appliance is available down to an espresso coffee machine. Glassware is crystal from Dartington in Devon, England. The work tops are made of Italian granite and there is a centre island/breakfast bar seating 4.

The master bedroom, like all the bedrooms has fantastic views of the sea. The king size bed is Italian and has hand carved columns and there is a desk and occasional chair. Off to one side is a large walk in wardrobe with fitted drawers and hanging space either side.
The master bathroom is oversized with a double ended Jacuzzi bath as well as a walk in rain shower. Down one side are fitted vanity units and twin sinks. There is also a separate toilet.

On the ground floor there are 2 further bedrooms both with king size beds. Each also has its own en- suite bathroom with a glass surrounded rain shower. Both bedrooms have extensive fitted wardrobes.

On the lower ground one bedroom has 2 (European) size doubles and a small seating area with its own sofa in dark tropical wood and coffee tables. There is also a writing desk and chairs. This bedroom has its own terrace with views of the garden. The bedroom also has a walk in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with a glass surrounded walk in shower.
On the lower ground is also the walk in wine cellar with exposed rock walls. A final single bedroom is also on the lower level which also has its own bathroom and rain shower.

The villa has been designed for outdoor living with a wide covered veranda which gives protection from the sun or a passing shower. There is an outside sofa with 2 large arm chairs as well as a 12 seat teak dining table. For BBQ’s there is a 6 burner Webber BBQ.

The pool is an infinity pool and measures 31ft by 17ft ( 9.4m by 5.3m) The deep end is 7ft deep and the shallow end 3.5ft deep. There is also a large paddling area for young children. Next to the pool is a large Jacuzzi.

The 3/4 acre garden is a mixture of tropical plants and trees. Growing are bananas, mango and pawpaw which can be picked.

Villa Avalon lends itself to being a luxury family residence and / or a vacation home that may be subsidized with short term rentals.

There is also planning permission approved within the grounds for an additional 2 bedroom guest cottage with plunge pool.
